Meet the Team
Dr. Agrawal is a practicing neonatologist at Boston Children's Hospital and also serves as the Director of the Neonatal Genomics Program. In this role, he utilizes exome and genome sequencing technologies and genetic modeling to identify novel genes in babies born with undiagnosed and often fatal conditions, and studies rare neonatal conditions, such as esophageal atresia, interstitial lung disease and metabolic and mitochondrial diseases. He is working to determine how genomic sequencing technologies may aid in newborn screening as well as their ethical, legal and social implications, and is studying the role of rapid sequencing in NICUs and the impact on care management and costs. Dr. Agrawal runs a basic science laboratory which is funded by the NIH, several local and foundation grants.
